Jay Peak Resort is currently looking for a self-starting, motivated individual to fill the role of Supervisor in the Jay Peak Provisions & General Store. The General Store Supervisor works to assist in the oversight of the day to day operations of the store by working in conjunction with Food & Beverage and Retail outlets to determine pricing on merchandise, coordinating promotion activities and ensuring proper merchandising of products. This individual will hire, motivate, & evaluate employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories and reconciling cash with sales receipts. The General Store Supervisor ensures the profitability and guest focused culture of the store by having an understanding of how to fulfill the vision of a unique country store setting in line with the “Raised Jay” culture. Other core competencies would include inventory and controls, and maintaining compliance with store policies. Jay Peak Resort is currently seeking Seasonal Shuttle Drivers. Drivers will provide pickup and drop-off shuttle service for guests and employees of Jay Peak Resort at pre-planned and designated routes on and off the resort property, welcoming, acknowledging, and assisting all guests with the highest level of customer service. Drivers will operate the shuttle busses as defined under Vermont Motor Vehicle Laws and Jay Peak Resort company policy, possessing a valid Vermont Commercial Driver Class C License with a passenger endorsement and a valid medical certificate according to USDOT standards and laws at the time of hire. Jay Peak Resort is currently seeking Lifeguards for the Pump House Indoor Water Park. Training and uniform (t-shirt and board shorts) will be provided. All Water Park positions will monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers and other guests. Must demonstrate exceptional customer service attitude, and have good communication skills. Jay Peak Resort is currently seeking to fill the position of Terrian Park Manager. This individual is responsible for supervising the Jay Peak Terrain Park Department and oversees the design, layout, construction and maintenance of Freestyle Terrain. Jay Peak’s Ski & Ride School uses a Terrain Based Teaching method which involves sculpted learning terrain and freestyle parks specifically designed to create intuitive, low consequence learning environments. This includes a Burton Riglet Park, two base area learning areas and three terrain parks. The Terrain Park Manager works closely with the Ski & Ride School and its instructors and is vital to the success of the school and its guests. Requirements include: minimum 5 years of Snow Cat operator experience; minimum 3 years experience in building small to large freestyle terrain features (including rail, box, and jib building); minimum 1 year supervisory experience; carpentry and welding experience preferred. Position expected to last approximately November 1st through May 15th. The Jay Peak Ski Club (JPSC) is looking for a Head Coach & Program Director for the 2014-2015 season and beyond. This person will direct and manage JPSC’s training activities for our roughly fifty Wishful (U7) through U16 athletes. The responsibilities include mentoring & training new coaches, being JPSC’s main liaison with USSA, setting the training plan & agenda for the season, assisting in hiring of new coaches and being the lead coach for one of our age groups. Requirements for this position include:
- USSA level 200 certification at a minimum.
- Prior experience managing a race team.
- A mindset of wanting to train all athletes to be great racers and strong overall skiers.
- An energetic individual who wants to help grow our program.
- College degree in a field related to athletics or the ski industry.
Our alumni and athletes have represented us at States, Can-Am, Junior Olympics and Sochi Olympics. We have a brand new club house as of this season.
