The smell of snow is in the air.

Winter Storm Juno must be a city girl, because she’s dropping 2+ feet of snow in Boston, instead of in the mountains of the North East Kingdom. Juno hasn’t completely forgot about little old Jay Peak though, we expect to see 6-10” over the next 36 hours.

Tomorrow could be considered an extreme weather day. Heavy snow fall throughout the day, coupled with high winds could lead to lift delays, sometimes you have to earn your turns and take a hike.

Lower Mountain lifts are scheduled to load the public at 8:30AM with Upper Mountain lifts slated to follow at 9:00AM. Final chair is at 4:00PM for every lift.

Lift tickets are $72 for adults ages 19+ and $57 for juniors ages 6-18 and can be purchased at both Stateside & Tramside Customer Service locations.

sunset after first day

I believe this was opening day in 2008. The sky was a perfect end to a surprisingly good first day of the season. I still remember how good it was compared to other early season days I had at Jay.
