Sunshine

The only clouds in the sky this afternoon are from our Snow Guns. Snowmaking pulled off the Village Double this morning, and are currently beefing up our snowpack on the Montrealer as they make their way to the summit. This strategic snow making plan will help ensure late spring skiing and riding.

Join us for Après music from the Dave Keller Band this afternoon from 4-7pm in the Bullwheel.

Tomorrow you can expect partly sunny skies, with temps in the mid 20s. We plan to have 63 trails open with 8 lifts slated to spin.

Lower Mountain lifts are planned to spin at 8:00am while Upper mountain lifts are at 8:30am. Final chair is at 4:00pm.

Lift tickets are priced at $72 for Adults ages 19+ and $57 for Juniors, ages 6-18.

8 Week Program (3-17)

The goal of Jay Peak’s 8-Week Program is to provide a safe and fun environment in which young skiers and riders can have fun, learn and improve the skills that will allow them to be snow sports enthusiasts for life.

Each class will provide a mixture of instruction, exploration and free ski/ride time all under the supervision of our experienced instructors. The 8-Week Program is open to children ages 3 to 17 of any ability level.

2014+15 PROGRAM FORMAT

Schedule

This season will begin January 3rd/4th and end on February 28th/March 1st. There will be no class on the weekend of February 14th/15th and make-up weekend is March 7th/8th.

Early Registration Discount

We will be offering registration for this year’s program at a highly discounted rate for the entire month of October. Starting November 1st, full retail rates will be in place.

New Location

New for the 2014+15 season, the 8-Week Program has moved into the beautiful, newly-renovated International Room (the IR) above Provisions Store on Tramside.

Weekly Learning Themes

These will center on topics including using ski/board edges, turn shape, balance, stance and exploration of new terrain. Each week will feature a concentration on a certain aspect of skiing/riding.

Getting Technical

Though we’ve always known it to be important, our program puts an emphasis on ski & ride technique to allow the person to “have more fun”. The better your technique, the less energy you use and the easier to is to access more terrain. We will be teaching kids how to enjoy the terrain at Jay in a safe and exploratory way.

Let’s Party

Join us for a 2-hour long award ceremony and celebration of all your accomplishments over the course of the program. Date is to be announced.
