Opening this Weekend

4-6" of snow's fallen since this latest squall rolled in last night and we're expecting a few more between now and Opening Day. Speaking of which...the Jet Triple will spin this Friday for Season Pass holders. If you don't have one, well then we have a one-time offer for you: buy an adult season pass this Friday and you'll get two complimentary passes to the Pump House Indoor Waterpark.

The Jet Triple is slated to spin this Friday for Season Pass holders from 10:00a-4:00p. Stay tuned for trail conditions.

The Jet as well as the Taxi quad will open to the public this Saturday & Sunday from 8:30a-4:00p; $39 for Adults, $25 for Juniors.

Once last chair hits at 4:00p on Sunday the 23rd, we’ll take a brief hiatus to prepare for Thanksgiving, and kick-off 7 day operations starting Friday, 11/28.

Join us and NEKCA Food Shelf in assisting those in need.  Bring a bag of canned goods (bag is considered 3 or more items) to Stateside Ticket Booth on Saturday, 11/29 and you'll receive a complimentary pass to the Pump House Indoor Waterpark.

Jay Peak Rando & Snow Leopard Challenge

Sponsored by Dynafit

The Jay Peak Rando is taking one large step forward this winter.  USSMA has sanctioned our course as a Category II, which means the course needs to be approximately 4000 ft vertical, 5 - 10 transitions, 50% off-piste, and under three hours winning time.  The 2014 course will have ~4000' vertical, six transitions, two boot packs, along with multiple bump and off-piste climbs/descents.

Jay Peak, along with Owl's Head Resort (just over the border) will make up a weekend of randonee racing.  The Dynafit Snow Leopard Challenge is a two-day event at both resorts with the overall champion receiving a grand prize of $500 cash.  A dollar from each entry fee will go towards The Snow Leopard Trust.

DIVISIONS

The Dyna-FIT:  If you have a randonee setup, altimeter and the stamina of a cheetah, this is the division for you.  You must compete in this division to be eligible for the grand prize.
NOTE:  All participants/gear types welcome in this division.
Entry Fee:  $40

The Bushwacker:  This is for folks whose only interaction with randonee is an afternoon skin on their alpine setup.  We'll have an abridged course with a warm (or cold) apres beverage waiting for you at the finish.  This division allows randonee, snowshoes, running, or walking.
The Course:  This will be a shortened version of the Dyna-FIT course.  It will have one gradual climb and one long climb with steep sections, and will be very obtainable for a novice.
Entry Fee:  $20
