Welcome to April.

It's a bit hard to believe that it is the first day of April; close to a half a foot of snow has fallen in the last 48 hours and the mountain's skiing and riding like mid-winter. Today's expected to be mostly sunny with temps in the upper 20s.

Expect to find 100% of the mountain open with nine lifts servicing 78 trails. The lower-mountain chairs will open at 8:30a with the upper-mountain coming on-line at 9:00a. Last chair for all lifts is at 4:00PM.

Start this Sunday with a sunsrise Easter service from the summit. Boarding for the tram will begin at 5:15ish.

The Third Annual Jay Peak Trail Running Family Festival

View/Hide Photos

The annual Jay Peak Trail Fest see more than 600 runners and racers head up to Jay Peak for a weekend of sunshine, adventure, good food, and good fun. This year promises much of the same with a barbeque both on Saturday and Sunday, plenty of beverages and fun for every member of the family.

The festival is a series of trail races for all abilities (ages 4-109) over Labor Day Weekend. There are three 5Ks on Saturday: run one, two or three races rated in difficulty like your ski slopes (green circle, blue square, black diamond). You may enter all three for our "Trail Runners with Issues" award too. There is a 25K and a 50K ultra trail race on Sunday. This race series allows the beginner to the trail running nut multiple levels to compete.

Something to note: This year's festival is expected to sell-out so if you're considering heading to the mountains for the Labor Day holiday, book it sooner than later.
