No you're not crazy, we are. The Storm Alert icon is back. We're not talking heavy spring showers, but possibly heavy, wet snow and lots of it. To put the kibosh on skeptics and Facebook trolls we'll just quote our weather source from an email this morning.

"I know this is insane – but models runs have been bringing combination of cold air decent moisture influx and wet snow above about 2000 feet for you guys. A Model run from this morning gives you about 10 to 15 inches. Saturday Night Sunday morning…then improvement for Monday – next weekend a heat wave nearing 90."

Arena Facilities

At Jay Peak we’re known for the best snow in the East—but now we have the best ice in the East too. Of course, we’re talking about the Ice Haus, Vermont’s newest ice-skating arena. With four locker rooms plus rental and repair space, the Ice Haus is a full-fledged NHL-sized ice skating arena located at the base of Jay Peak Resort. Whether you like your vacation with a healthy dose of stick-handling, sow-cowing or spectating, you’ll be able to dig an edge into Vermont’s best ice. The best part? It won’t be on the mountain.

Our arena is home to hockey, figure skating and curling teams. And since kids aren't often sent to practice alone we've made the arena as comfortable as possible for hockey-parents and other spectators by including a heated Snack Bar and Cafe with licensed bar, cushy seating and views of the rink.  The arena also includes a Rental and Repair shop, Pro Shop, and four locker rooms and ref rooms. Here are the basics stats of the Ice Haus Arena:

  • NHL sized (85' x 200')
  • Bleacher seating for 400 spectators
  • Standing space for an additional 300+ spectators
  • Electric Zamboni

Want the place to yourself? We can work with you on hockey events (regional leagues, summer camps,  tournaments), figure skating weekly training and camps, curling  bonspiels, learn-to-skate programs, power skating programs, private  functions (corporate events, family reunions, etc.) - whatever you need.  Rates vary but the basic rate is $180/hr.  If you'd like to book ice time please contact Dennis Himes (802) 988-2724 or dhimes@jaypeakresort.com).  Dennis can also provide details on lodging rates, meal plans, and golf rates if you want to book an all-inclusive package.

Snack Bar

Located inside the Ice Haus Skating Arena. Enjoy beer, wine and the best popcorn on the mountain at our Ice Haus Snack Bar but that’s just for starters. McKenzie Hot Dogs, enormous burgers and lunch specials round out our snack bar menu (with big sandwiches, candy and ice cream to boot) all inside our heated snack bar. Enjoy great hockey, public skating, curling and events while you sit and snack.

Pro Shop

Look to the Ice Haus Pro Shop for all your hockey needs.  From a wide range of on-ice gear to logo'd commemortive sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats, we've got you covered.
